How it works
A mobile IP is assigned by a cellular carrier. Because carriers put many subscribers behind the same address through CGNAT, a single mobile IP can represent a large number of real people at once.
That is precisely why blocking one is costly for a destination: it takes out genuine users along with the traffic it was aimed at. Sites are correspondingly reluctant to do it.
The same mechanism means you have less control. The address is shared, its reputation is not yours alone, and carrier NAT introduces latency you cannot tune away.

Use it for
- Mobile applications and mobile-only web experiences, where a carrier IP is what the platform expects
- Targets that reject both datacenter and residential traffic
- Social platforms, which weight carrier provenance heavily
Do not use it for
- Bulk collection — carrier NAT adds latency, and datacenter moves the same bytes faster
- Anything datacenter or residential already handles cleanly. Escalate to mobile because you were blocked, not by default.
- Work needing a stable, exclusive identity — carrier NAT means the address is shared by design
Mobile is an escalation, not a starting point. It draws from the same gigabytes as everything else, so switching costs you nothing except the latency carrier NAT adds — escalate because you were blocked, not by default.
A real connection
One credential pair covers everything. Type, country, rotation and session all travel inside the username, so you never provision a second proxy user to change one of them.
user-USERNAME-type-mobile-country-gb-session-checkout_a1-rotation-0A rotation of 0 holds the address for the named session. The session identifier is yours to choose, up to 128 characters.
Questions
- Does mobile cost extra?
- No. Residential, datacenter and mobile all draw from the same balance at the same rate, and you pick the type per connection. Switch as often as you like — there is no surcharge and no separate balance to top up.
- Everywhere else mobile is the premium tier. Why not here?
- Because the network we resell prices the three types the same, and we pass that structure through instead of inventing a tier on top of it. The consequence is that choosing mobile stays a technical decision: you take the latency, you do not take a bill.
- Is a mobile IP shared with other people?
- Yes, and that is the point. Carrier NAT puts many real subscribers behind one address, which is exactly why destinations are reluctant to block it.
- Is mobile faster than residential?
- Generally not. Carrier NAT adds latency. Mobile is bought for how the address is perceived, not for speed.
